Experience & Activities

Lieutenant Jason Parmenter is the Patrol Division Commander for the Ottumwa Police Department and has served the City of Ottumwa for the past twenty-three (23) years. During this time he has served the community as a patrol officer, field training officer, drug task force investigator, patrol sergeant, and drug task force supervisor. Lieutenant Parmenter currently oversees the patrol division, is a member of the department’s crisis negotiation team, coordinates the department’s Field Training Officer (FTO) program, and is the department’s K9 Coordinator. Lieutenant Parmenter and his wife Nicole have two (2) children, Taylor and Cade, and enjoy spending time and going to Iowa Football games together. Go Hawks!

Lieutenant Parmenter is excited to be part of the Resilient Communities Steering Committee because he is passionate about the well-being of the community as a whole and strives to make it a better and safer place for all of our families and our children. Lieutenant Parmenter is proud to be part of a group that provides education, resources, and help to the children of Wapello County.
